Countries count as reached when the circle touches their territory (real geometry against Natural Earth shapes). Languages are the union of the reached countries' language data. The population figure is APPROXIMATE: each country's verified population is apportioned by its estimated share of area inside the circle. The hexagon-level Kontur Population dataset would make this figure precise; it ships as a GeoPackage we could not parse this pass (recorded in DATA_GAPS.md), so the estimate is labeled rather than passed off as exact.

- What does the circle measure?
- Everything within a given radius of the point you drop: which countries it reaches, which languages are spoken in them, and an estimated population inside the circle.
- How accurate is the population estimate?
- It is an approximation. Population is attributed at country level rather than by where people actually live, so a circle covering part of a country counts a share of that country rather than its real distribution. Treat it as an order of magnitude, not a census figure.
- How many countries are within 1,000 km of Paris?
