Privacy policy

The following are kept in your browser's local storage. They are not sent to any server, and they are readable only by this site on this device.

• The languages you select in the reach tool, so your selection survives a reload.
• Your results, streaks and completion state for each daily game.
• Your analytics consent choice, so you are not asked on every visit.
• Small interface preferences, such as whether the map game shows distances in kilometers or miles.

A bug report you start typing is held in session storage so that closing the panel by accident does not lose your text. It is discarded when you close the tab.

Clearing your browser data for this site erases all of it, including your game streaks. There is no server-side copy to restore from.

Speakrow uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages and features are used. The analytics script is not loaded at all until you accept the cookie notice. If you decline, or simply never answer, no analytics script is loaded and no analytics cookies are set.

When enabled, it records page views and a small number of events such as which languages were selected or which game was completed. It does not receive your name or email, because the site never has them. Google may process this data outside your country, and Google acts as an independent controller for the data it collects.

To change your mind at any time, open the menu button in the top right of any page and choose Cookie preferences. That clears the stored choice and shows the notice again, and declining stops the script from loading on subsequent page views.

If you submit a bug report, the site stores the message you wrote, the page you were on, the languages you had selected, and basic technical details about your browser and screen size. This is used only to reproduce the problem. Submitting one is entirely optional and there is no other way to send us data.

Please do not include personal information in the message. There is no field asking for one and none is needed to act on a report.

• Vercel hosts the site and processes the network requests needed to serve it, including IP addresses in standard server logs.
• Supabase stores the language dataset the reach tool reads, and receives bug reports. Reading the dataset requires no identifying information.
• Google Analytics receives usage events, and only after you consent.
• flagcdn.com serves flag images, so your browser requests images from that domain when a page shows a flag.
• Resend delivers an email notification when a bug report is submitted.

Fonts are served from this site rather than from Google Fonts, so no request is made to Google for them.

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and erase personal data held about you, and to object to its processing. In practice, the site holds essentially none: there is no account and nothing to look you up by. The data in your browser is already under your direct control and clearing site data removes it.

For anything held by Google Analytics, withdrawing consent through Cookie preferences stops further collection. To ask about a bug report you submitted, use the same Report a Bug form and describe when you sent the original.

Speakrow is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

If this policy changes in substance, the date at the top of the page is updated. There is no mailing list to notify, since the site does not collect email addresses.
