This tool compares any two of 203 countries and territories side by side across population, GDP, life expectancy, internet use, area, languages and everyday conventions. The gaps it surfaces are wider than most people expect. Life expectancy at birth ranges from 86.5 years in Monaco down to 54.64 in Nigeria as of 2024, a difference of 31.9 years. GDP per capita spans from about $288,002 in Monaco to $234 in Burundi, a factor of roughly 1232, using each country's latest available reference year rather than a single common one.

- Why does a country show no data for an indicator?
- Because the value is genuinely absent from the source. The World Bank publishes no figures for Taiwan or Western Sahara, for example. Nothing is estimated or interpolated to fill a gap, so an empty cell means the data does not exist rather than that it failed to load.
